Students, Teachers and Parents,

As everyone prepares for their first day of school, I want to welcome everyone back and let you know we are looking forward to seeing you.  I do want to share some information with you as we try to navigate the school year:

Self-Check and Regulation/Attendance

Please check your child in the mornings before he/she comes to school for temps and symptoms per the CDC.  If your child shows any symptoms, please keep them home.  Attendance will be lenient this year.  There will be no Perfect Attendance awards given.  If your child is out sick, please plan to take a picture or scan the excuse and send it through email to the school office.

 Visitors in the Building

The school is requesting that no adults other than staff enter the building.  This is for the safety of our students and staff.  This includes our parents that walk students to class, and those that eat lunch with students.  Visitors are allowed in the building by appointment.

 Car Rider Line

AM Drop Off For Elementary:

Elementary students will be dropped off by the gym where a staff member will check their temperatures before they get out the car.   Elementary carline will follow the far loop that goes by the gym.  Please remember that everyone must remain in their vehicle, proceed through the car rider line, and wait for staff to unload your child.

 PM Pick Up For Elementary:

Afternoon pick up takes place in the front loop by the church building.  Afternoon dismissal time for K3-2 grades is 2:30 and afternoon dismissal time for grades 2-5 is 2:45.  You must have your car rider card to pick up your child.  We will be handing these out in open house and the morning drop off on the first day.  Also, you can expect to receive one in your child's backpack on the first day.

AM Drop Off for Middle / High School

Middle and High School students will park (student drivers) or be dropped off in the front loop by the church where their temperatures will be checked.

PM Pick Up for Middle / High School

Cars picking up middle school and high school students will need to park in the loop that goes by the side entrance of the main building if arriving early.  After elementary student car line is over, those cars will be directed to come around by the church building at 3:10 for afternoon dismissal for grades 6-12.  If you are picking up both elementary and middle / high schools students, you will need to either be in the middle school / high school PM pickup line, or pick up your elementary child and then get into the middle and high school line.

Tardy

If arriving late, elementary students will need to be escorted to the front doors to be signed in.  Middle school and high school students will need to sign in at the office.

 Outside Items and Food

No outside food will be allowed to be brought into the building.  This includes birthday celebrations. NO food items or goodie bags may be brought in for any type of celebration.  Lunchboxes, of course, are allowed but no additional items such as cupcakes and food from restaurants Parents can purchase cookies or ice cream for the lunchroom for birthday celebrations.  The prices are below:

  • 2 chocolate chip cookies or ice cream for $.50 per student
  • You may add a drink to either of these for total of $1.00 per student

Please make sure your child has their belongings before leaving home.  Any forgotten item that is dropped off will need be dropped off on the wall outside the main building.  Make sure the office is aware that the item has been dropped off.

Chapel

Chapels will not take place during the month of August. Students also will not be required to wear chapel dress during August.

  Clubs

At this time, we will not have any clubs before or after school.  We will revisit this decision at the start of 2nd 9 weeks to see if it is a possibility then.

Safety Measures

Please know that we are taking every precaution that we can to ensure your child’s and our staff’s safety.  Each classroom will have Department of Public Health approved supplies to clean surfaces as needed throughout the day.  Students may wear masks.  Our water fountains will NOT be in use and water bottles labeled with your child’s name are strongly encouraged for students to bring and use.  We are also trying to be as paperless as possible and will do most communication digitally.  We are also planning on having a room to keep our sick students in separate areas as needed.

We appreciate you in advance for being flexible and understanding during this time.  Again, these are uncharted waters we are navigating through and our sole purpose is to do what is best for students.

Thank you for your patience and support.  We can’t wait for school to start!
