We Want To Know About You!

Praise Christian Academy has been foundational for many of our students over the years and we'd like you to know that you are still a part of our community.

Our educational vision for our students has not changed over the years.  We are intentional on what we feel God wants that outcome to be.  When you graduate, we envisioned that you would possess qualities that God reveals in His Word.

What are you doing now? I’m an incredibly blessed dad to four amazing kids: Isaac (8), Eliza (6), Micah (5), and Lydia (2) as well as husband of 12 years to my beautiful wife, Zoie. As far as work goes, I’m an Amazon Marketplace Manager at a health and wellness company called Better Way Health.

When you look back to your time at Praise Academy, how did it create a strong foundation for what you are doing now? Praise taught me to really put Christ first. Not sports, not work or financial success, but Jesus.

How did Christian education impact your life and your worldview? The spiritual support I received from the teachers at Praise (most of whom are teachers at Praise to this day) helped me to take seriously the importance of seeking healthy relationships that would help lead me closer to Christ.

What was one of your favorite experiences at Praise Academy? I have so many, but to just choose one, this is a bit of an inside joke between me and a couple of teachers who are still at Praise, but scary movies DON’T scare me and I wanted the lights on because I couldn’t see NOT because I was afraid. And those print-out images that were intended to frighten me could have come close to scarring me forever. Thanks. Good times.

When you look back to your time at Praise Academy, how did it create a strong foundation for what you are doing now? Praise Academy taught me to stay true to who I am and to keep pursuing what I set my mind to.

How did Christian education impact your life and your worldview? I think a Christian education can set a solid foundation by teaching you to learn why you believe what you believe. It is so important to have that before going off to college and experiencing “real life” as an adult!

What was one of your favorite experiences at Praise Academy? My favorite part is by far playing sports throughout my time at Praise. I miss it daily.

How did Christian education impact your life and your worldview? It helped me to not look at the negatives in life, that there is always a positive, even if you think there can’t be.

Memphis Garmon-Class of 2021

What are you doing now? I just started the first semester of my senior year in college at Kennesaw State University.

When you look back to your time at Praise Academy, how did it create a strong foundation for what you are doing now? The science classes prepared me tremendously for college. Also, the growth I experienced with my relationship with Jesus helped me to remain strong & steadfast in the midst of crazy, care-free, under-aged college students.

How did Christian education impact your life and your worldview? The more advanced pre-med classes I take, the more evident science relates to the Bible. They correlate so well. Each help me grow in wisdom & knowledge in one another. I know for a fact that if I would have spent the last seven years of my middle school through high school experiences at a public school, I would not be where I am today.

What was one of your favorite experiences at Praise Academy? Sports! I made so many needed friendships during those seasons.

Abbi Carey-Class of 2021

What are you doing now? I am currently in college pursuing a bachelors in digital animation and I am part of a very small business :)

When you look back to your time at Praise Academy, how did it create a strong foundation for what you are doing now? My experience at Praise really helped me to stay true to myself and persist. I was very often allowed to draw in class , on sheets of paper, on tests, on assignments. It was a method to help me focus and concentrate while practicing what I wished to pursue in the future. If I wasn't allowed to be myself and fidget and doodle, I probably would not be pursuing my dreams.

How did Christian education impact your life and your worldview? I think one of my favorite things I learned at Praise was the history and knowledge of other religions. That has helped me so much going into college, because I am able to have a basic understanding of religions some of my friends may have. Having that education allows me to be more compassionate to those around me and understand their beliefs. It allows there to be an open and safe space for learning, where they can tell me about their religion and I can tell them about mine. Having memories of stories and lessons of the Bible allowed me to have enough knowledge to find my own path and faith with God. My faith with God has changed from something others expected of me, to something I have created and made with him myself. I am thankful for the Christian Education because when it comes to my worldview, it truly shows. I love all. No matter the race, religion, culture, gender identity, who they love, background, it doesn't matter to me. I love them, and it is God who helps fuel and amplify that love.

What was one of your favorite experiences at Praise Academy? Volleyball. Nothing beat the thrill of having an intense game against another team. I miss that.
